Description

The Department of Pharmacy Practice, Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy at Texas A&M University and Driscoll Children's Hospital invite applications for one full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position with an 11 month academic appointment beginning Fall semester 2023.  This is a Driscoll Children's Hospital position and applicants will be considered for the faculty title of Clinical Assistant, Clinical Associate or Clinical Professor depending on qualifications. 

The successful candidate will be expected to have an active role in preparing pharmacy students with appropriate coursework and training to enter into the practice of pharmacy as competent and confident health care providers.  The Department is seeking faculty with expertise in critical subject areas.  The position requires administration, teaching, service, and research to the Department/College, Driscoll Children's Hospital, Corpus Christi, TX, the profession, and the public. The position provides opportunities for an individual with a strong commitment to an academic career emphasizing innovative educational, service, and scholarly activities. Scholarly activity is required; publication, clinical research, and presentation activities are expected. The academic responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, education to students and residents. The administrative duties will consist of directing and further developing the Postgraduate Year One (PGY1), American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Pre-Candidate pharmacy residency program at Driscoll Children's Hospital, Corpus Christi, Tx.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a PharmD or other professional pharmacy degree from an accredited college/pharmacy school in the US. The candidate must be licensed as a pharmacist in Texas or be eligible for licensure by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. The candidate will be expected to obtain their preceptor license and maintain qualifications to be a pharmacy residency preceptor. The candidate will be expected to develop a clinical practice at Driscoll Children’s Hospital – Corpus Christi, TX, and oversee the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program. Preference will be given to candidates with a PGY2 in pediatrics or infectious diseases and experience in clinical research.
