The Department of Physics and Astronomy, College of Arts and Sciences, of Texas A&M University invites applications for a faculty member in the area of experimental AMO quantum information science. This full-time, tenure-track position with specialization in experimental AMO quantum information science will have a nine-month academic appointment beginning August 1, 2024. Applicants will be considered for the faculty title of assistant professor.
The successful candidate will assume full teaching responsibilities at the graduate and undergraduate levels, establish a vigorous, independent research program that will attract external funding, and contribute to the service mission of the department. Researchers in the area of experimental AMO quantum information science are encouraged to apply. Texas A&M has an interest in expanding its efforts in interdisciplinary sciences. Synergies of the selected candidate’s research with other programs may also be an asset.
The new faculty will be a member of the Institute for Quantum Science and Engineering (IQSE). Research within the IQSE involves faculty, students, and researchers within multiple colleges and Texas A&M System parts, including but not limited to Texas A&M AgriLife Research, Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station, Texas A&M Health Science Center, and Texas A&M University, and provides a unique opportunity to take advantage of and build upon the outstanding strengths of the Texas A&M University System, melding them into an extraordinary interdisciplinary entity with national and international impact.
