Description

The Department of Veterinary Physiology and Pharmacology (VTPP), School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University (https://physiology.tamu.edu/) invites high caliber applicants for a full-time, 9 month tenure-track or tenured position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor with a primary research emphasis in toxicology. We are especially interested in applicants utilizing molecular, cellular and/or genetic approaches to investigate the impact of toxicants on human and/or animal health. We have a strong interest in candidates utilizing computational, cell-based, or small and large animal models to test their hypotheses. Anticipated start date is 2024.

The successful candidate will be expected to make significant contributions in the areas of scholarly research/creative work, teaching, and service by establishing and maintaining an energetic, extramurally well-funded research program; engaging in interdisciplinary and collaborative research; and teaching in the undergraduate, graduate and/or veterinary professional programs. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with candidate experience.  A strong track record of peer-reviewed publications is also desired in all candidates. 

Qualifications

Candidates are required to have either a PhD, DVM or MD and a research focus in the field of toxicology.

Candidates to the rank of Associate Professor are expected to have an established, federally funded research program. Candidates to the rank of Assistant Professor must have a successful postdoctoral training experience with a record of research excellence and be highly competitive for obtaining competitive federal grants.
