Description

The Department of Philosophy in the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas A&M University, College Station (http://philosophy.tamu.edu) seeks outstanding applicants for a position at the rank of tenure-track Assistant Professsor in Ancient Philosophy with specialization in Ancient Greek and Roman, Ancient Chinese, and Early Modern. The proposed starting date is August 1, 2025. This is a 9 month, full-time, position, with a typical teaching load of 2:2. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Duties for this position include teaching assigned courses, graduate and undergraduate advising; research in the candidate’s areas of expertise that will result in publications with appropriate journals and university presses (or other equivalent academic presses), as well as other research outputs, such as grants, fellowships, awards, and scholarly presentations; and service that includes participation in faculty meetings, departmental committees and other departmental initiatives as assigned, as well as service to the college, university, and profession.

Qualifications

A Ph.D. in Philosophy or closely related field is required.
