Description

The College of Performance, Visualization & Fine Arts (PVFA) at Texas A&M University invites applications for one (1) full-time, non-tenure track visiting lecturer position in theatre with a nine-month appointment. The start date for this position is August 25, 2025. PVFA and the Section of Dance, Music, and Theatre Performance seek an individual to teach one course, Introduction to Devised Theatre. The position also includes academic service. The course is typically taught as a lecture class (face-to-face) that serves undergraduate majors in Theatre, minors in Devised Theatre, and the University Core Curriculum.  

 

The College of Performance, Visualization & Fine Arts (PVFA) is a new college within the Texas A&M University System and has a diverse and dynamic mission with 100 faculty and over 30 staff members, and projected exponential growth in the next four years. The college was formed from three departments/programs spread across the university: the Department of Visualization, the Department of Performance Studies, and the Dance Science Program. The mission of PVFA places a heavy emphasis on faculty and student collaboration and interdisciplinarity. Texas A&M University leadership has charged the college with developing innovative research and creative works, public performances, and degree offerings at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels that build upon our strength in merging art and science, as well as the traditional fields of art, music, dance, film, and theatre. Qualifications

Candidates must have an M.A. in theatre or related field and significant teaching experience at the college/school level in the field or in a related field. Preference will be given to applicants with a terminal degree (M.F.A. or Ph.D.) in theatre and university teaching experience.
