The successful candidate must have the following:
-Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene (BSDH) from an accredited dental hygiene program
-Masters or Doctoral degree in dental hygiene or a related field (i.e. public health, nutrition, sciences, medical, education).
-An active registered dental hygienist license issued by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners
-A minimum of five years of clinical experience in private practice, proficiency in current powered instrumentation and hand scaling techniques
-Demonstrated clinical teaching skills appropriate for undergraduate dental hygiene education.
Preferred qualifications include: prior experience teaching undergraduate dental hygiene students, particularly in the administration of local anesthesia, as well as experience in didactic instruction and course direction.
