Description

The Rangel College of Pharmacy at Texas A&M University invites nominations and applications for a faculty position in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. This is an 11-month, academic professional track (non-tenure) full-time position in Kingsville, and the start date is late Fall 2025/Spring 2026. Applicants will be considered for the faculty titles of Instructional Assistant Professor, Instructional Associate Professor or Instructional Professor and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The new faculty position provides an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong commitment to an academic career emphasizing innovative teaching and scholarly activities in the area of teaching and learning. Responsibilities would include teaching/assisting in the delivery of the College’s PharmD and/or PhD in pharmaceutical sciences programs, advising of PharmD students and postdocs, and contributing to establishing a positive, supportive and collaborative environment. Additionally, this faculty member is also expected to engage, publish, and collaborate with our faculty in the scholarship of teaching and learning. There are ample opportunities to engage in collaborative research, and contribute to enhancing the research portfolio and the service mission of the College and Texas A&M University. The start date is negotiable.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a doctoral degree in pharmaceutical sciences or a related discipline, and/or a professional pharmacy degree (PharmD), and five years of didactic teaching experience in a pharmacy or health related program. The successful candidate must have excellent oral and written communication as well as interpersonal skills. Additionally, the successful candidate will have a strong commitment to scholarship of teaching and learning and its assessment, and a deep understanding of the integration of active learning and other educational strategies, and the use of modern technologies. Preference will be given to individuals with a pharmacy background and/or those with experience teaching in a US-accredited school or college of pharmacy.
