The Harold Vance Department of Petroleum Engineering, College of Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for one full-time, tenure-track position at the assistant professor level with a 9-month academic appointment beginning Spring 2026. There is also the possibility of an additional summer appointment, contingent upon the need and availability of funds. We are seeking candidates with expertise in traditional and advanced production engineering technologies, and the areas of carbon capture, utilization, and storage and geothermal energy as these relate to production and facilities engineering. While we prefer candidates with a strong background in production engineering, particular consideration will be given to those who can address both established and emerging challenges in petroleum engineering.
Expectations for this position include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, conducting innovative and impactful research, mentoring graduate and undergraduate students, participating in all aspects of the department’s activities; and serve the profession. The Harold Vance Department of Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M is recognized as one of the top petroleum engineering programs in the U.S. and is well known in the international oil and gas community.
