Texas A&M University College of Nursing is seeking two outstanding faculty members with experience in academic nursing education for full-time tenure-track or tenured faculty appointments in Bryan, Texas. These positions carry teaching responsibilities in our nationally ranked undergraduate and graduate programs and are full-time, 9-month appointments with the possibility of a summer contract, beginning August 2026. Applicants will be considered for the titles of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, depending on experience and qualifications. Rank and salary are commensurate with credentials and experience.
The College of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with multiple tracks (Traditional, Second Degree, and RN to BSN), a Master of Science in Nursing with concentrations in Family Nurse Practitioner, Nursing Education, and Forensic Nursing, as well as a clinical doctoral program (DNP-Leadership). We also offer a graduate certificate in Forensic Health Care and post-graduate certificates in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Future plans include launching a PhD program, an LVN to BSN, a BSN to DNP in Forensic Nursing, a DNP in Extreme Environments, and additional graduate and post-graduate certificate programs. We are a growing college within Texas A&M University, with programs located in Bryan, Texas (primary location); Round Rock, Texas; and McAllen, Texas.
The College of Nursing is one of five health professions colleges within the Health Science Center. Teaching:
Faculty are expected to teach effectively across classroom, clinical, simulation, and online environments, developing new courses that align with current curricular and accreditation standards. Responsibilities include preparing and revising course materials and assessments to enhance student learning, selecting, and managing high-quality clinical experiences, and providing competent clinical supervision. Faculty also evaluate student performance, advise, and mentor students for academic success, maintain posted office hours, collaborate with and mentor faculty colleagues, and stay current with clinical certifications.
Research/Scholarship:
Faculty in tenure-track positions conduct research and scholarship activities in accordance with their rank and appointment expectations. They disseminate findings through publications and presentations, seek competitive external funding to support their research endeavors, and lead or collaborate on scholarly projects that advance nursing education, clinical practice, or health outcomes.
Service:
Service involves active participation in college, university, and professional activities, including committee membership, accreditation, or self-study initiatives, advising student organizations, and engaging with the community. Tenured faculty are also expected to mentor junior colleagues and provide leadership within college or university committees and professional organizations or boards.
