The Department of Physics and Astronomy, College of Arts and Sciences, of Texas A&M University invites applications for a faculty member in the area of experimental AMO quantum information science. This full-time, tenure-track position with specialization in experimental AMO quantum information science will have a nine-month academic appointment with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2026. Applicants will be considered for the faculty title of assistant professor.
The successful candidate will assume teaching responsibilities in line with the expectations for a tenure-track/tenured faculty at a top research university, establish a vigorous, independent research program that will attract external funding, and contribute to the service mission of the department. Texas A&M has an interest in expanding its efforts in interdisciplinary sciences. Synergies of the selected candidate’s research with other programs may also be an asset.
This new faculty member is also expected to become a member of the Institute for Quantum Science and Engineering (IQSE). IQSE is renowned for its innovative interdisciplinary research in optics and photonics and provides a collaborative research environment across multiple colleges within Texas A&M University System and numerous universities around the world. IQSE extensive research facilities are complemented with abundant research infrastructure at Texas A&M University.
