The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, School of Medicine at Texas A&M University, invites applications for a full-time, open-rank tenured or tenure-track position with an 11-month academic appointment; start date negotiable. Applicants will be considered for the faculty titles of Assistant/ Associate/ Full Professor. This position is research-focused but will also require appropriate components of education and administration.  

Qualified candidates at the  Assistant/ Associate/ Full Professor levels are expected to have evidence for past and/or current R01-level federal funding or equivalent. Qualified candidates at the Assistant Professor level are expected to have an application scored at a fundable range on a recent submission.  The incumbent will be expected to establish an independent research program to generate extramural funding to maintain research and salary support. Teaching to clinical and research trainees, as applicable, and academic service to the department and university are also expected.

The Texas A&M Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences has a growing, collegial group of researchers applying molecular genomic, neuroimaging, postmortem brain research, and animal model approaches to trauma/PTSD, anxiety/depression, and substance use disorders. The new faculty member will receive a competitive package for salary and start-up and laboratory and office space in the Texas A&M Health Science Center, College Station.

Qualifications

The successful applicants will have an M.D. and/or Ph.D. degree with 5 to 10 years of professional experience. Individuals experienced with a wide range of molecular, neuroimaging, genetics, electrophysiology, and behavior approaches related to studying the neuropathology of psychiatric disorders and addiction, are encouraged to apply.
