Description

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, School of Medicine at Texas A&M University invites applications for a full-time or part-time, Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure) adult and child & adolescent psychiatry positions with an 11-month academic appointment, renewable annually.  Applicants will be considered for a faculty rank of Clinical Assistant, Associate or full Professor depending on qualifications.  Opportunities are available to be a part of a growing academic clinical enterprise.  In addition to outpatient practice, positions are available in addictions, emergency, consult/liaison and geriatric psychiatry.  Opportunities also exist to develop integrative and collaborative care initiatives, including by way of telehealth, with local primary care physicians.  A neuro-modulation clinic is under development. The department is actively involved in medical education and has a newly accredited psychiatry residency training program.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Provide high quality, evidence based care to a diverse patient population as a leader of the care team
  • Collaborate with other behavioral health providers in the provision of patient care
  • Contribute to the departmental and medical school educational programs
  • Supervise medical students, residents and other trainees in the clinical setting
  • Attend and participate in related departmental and medical school administrative and committee activities
Qualifications

Required education and experience include:

  • M.D., D.O., or equivalent medical degree
  • Completion of an accredited psychiatric residency training program
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Texas
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
