Description

The Department of Comprehensive Dentistry at Texas A&M University School of Dentistry invites applications for up to one full-time tenure track or tenure review upon hire position with an 11 month academic appointment for the position of Director of the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Residency Program beginning Spring semester 2023.  Applicants will be considered for the faculty titles of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor depending on qualifications. Responsibilities include coordinating clinical activity, supervising patient care, participating in graduate didactic and clinical teaching, evaluation of residents’ professionalism, clinical progress, and performance, as well as counseling residents.  Position includes clinical and didactic teaching in ALL areas of comprehensive dentistry. All tenured and tenure-track faculty members are expected to make significant contributions in the areas of scholarly/creative work, teaching, and service. Tenured/tenure-track faculty members will be expected participate in scholarly activity in the form of research with graduate residents or faculty in other departments, or publishing articles, books, etc.

Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant.

Interested individuals should have a strong commitment to teaching and service.

The opportunity for extramural private practice is available. 

Qualifications

Candidate must have a DDS, DMD or advanced degree from a U.S. or accredited dental school and be eligible for licensure in Texas. Candidate must have an AEGD or GPR certificate.  Candidate should be familiar with the latest technology in dentistry, including contemporary materials and techniques, implant placement and restoration, digital procedures, and others.  Teaching experience required.  Preferred candidates will have previous experience with AEGD accreditation renewals.   

All final candidates will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check prior to beginning employment.
