Description

The Department of Economics in the College of Arts & Sciences at Texas A&M University is seeking to fill two positions at the ranks of Professor with Tenure or Associate Professor with Tenure in the field of Applied Microeconomics.  These tenure-review-upon-hire positions are 9-month full-time academic appointments with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2024.  We are open to coordinating hires for multiple positions for candidates with research complementarities.

In addition to publishing in leading journals, the successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and supervise graduate students as well as participate in the applied microeconomics workshop, serve on an appropriate department committee, and be involved as a member of Ph.D. dissertation committees. 

Qualifications

This position requires a Ph.D. in economics or a related field.  Experience advising graduate students is essential as well as a background in instruction at the graduate and undergraduate level.  All appointees are expected to be committed to teaching and research of the highest quality.  Preference will be given to scholars who use structural techniques to examine questions in public and labor economics, including but not limited to topics such as education, labor markets, health insurance, pensions, and taxation.
