The School of Medicine at Texas A&M University invites applications for the role of Program Director of the Master of Genetic Counseling Program. Applicants will be considered for the Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure) faculty title of Clinical faculty at the rank Assistant/Associate/Professor, commensurate with qualifications. This is a full-time, 11 month non-tenured appointment with an anticipated start date in fall of 2023.
The School of Medicine is headquartered in Bryan/College Station, Texas with regional campuses in Dallas, Houston, and Round Rock, with additional educational sites across the state. The departmental home within the School of Medicine for the successful candidate will be determined based on the applicant’s education and experience. Responsibilities for this position as faculty include teaching within the School of Medicine curriculum and academic service to the school and Texas A&M University. The Program Director works under the direction of their department chair and the Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies.
Responsibilities include program development and administration, assurance of the program/clinical education effectiveness, and curriculum planning and development. The Program Director is responsible for assuring that the program meets professional accreditation standards and documentation requirements. The successful applicant will be an excellent communicator with strong organizational, administrative, interpersonal and leadership skills. The job duties include achieving and maintaining program accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling (ACGC). The Director will coordinate the recruitment of clinical sites locally and throughout Texas, including the development of appropriate affiliation agreements, in compliance with the standards of the ACGC.
