Description

The Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communications (ALEC), within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University, is actively seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual for one full-time, academic professional track (non-tenure) position in agricultural leadership and development (ALED). This 9-month academic appointment will commence on August 1, 2024, or as per mutual agreement. Applicants will be considered for the faculty title of Instructional Assistant Professor depending on qualifications. The position will consist of an 80% teaching and 20% service appointment. The successful candidate will:

  • Teach engaging undergraduate and occasional graduate courses, focusing on topics such as leadership theory, organizational change, applied ethics, personal leadership development, and other related topics aligned with your background and expertise.
  • Serve as a graduate faculty member.
  • Contribute to university, college, and departmental initiatives through service on committees and other pertinent activities.
  • Engage in continuing professional development and program development through the identification of innovative curricular content and information delivery methods.

The undergraduate ALED program has approximately 900 majors and minors, and the ALEC graduate programs (M.Ag., M.S., and Ph.D.) have about 125 students. Learn more about ALEC at https://alec.tamu.edu/

Qualifications

Earned Ph.D. in a pertinent leadership discipline and successful instructional experience in delivering leadership programs and collaborating with stakeholder groups.

Applicants must possess:  

  • Creativity, innovation, organization, attention to detail, and resourcefulness.
  • Proven teaching prowess and adept classroom management abilities.
  • Establish relationships with industry partners and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in presentations, diplomacy, and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
