Description

The Texas A&M Rangel School of Pharmacy invites nominations and applications for a faculty position in Social and Administrative Pharmacy in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, in College Station. This is a full-time 11-month, tenure-track/tenure review upon hire or an academic professional track position, and the start date is Spring 2024. The position type (tenure-track/tenure review upon hire or an academic professional track), the faculty rank (Assistant/Associate or Full Professor [Instructional Assistant/Associate or Full Professor for APT]) as well as salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Responsibilities would include: 1. teaching/assisting in the delivery of the School’s PharmD and/or PhD in pharmaceutical sciences programs, 2. making contributions to research in the department related to one or multiple broader areas including pharmacoepidemiology, utilization and cost of medication and other health care services, socio-behavioral aspects of patient care and health outcomes, and related research areas, 3. mentoring and advising of students and postdocs, and 4. providing service within and outside the school, and contributing to establishing a positive, supportive and collaborative environment. Of note, individuals requesting tenure-track/tenure review upon hire are expected to develop and maintain a sustainable and extramurally funded research program and will be provided with a competitive start-up package. Current research in the department with potential for collaboration includes: pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacoeconomics, as well as drug delivery and formulations, cardiovascular, diabetes, oncology, and infectious disease. There are ample opportunities to engage in collaborative research, conduct applied and contract research, and contribute to enhancing the research portfolio as well as the teaching and service mission of the School and Texas A&M University.

Qualifications

Candidates should have earned a Ph.D. degree in Social and Administrative Pharmacy or a related social science/health discipline, and have excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Candidates with a track record of effective scholarship, funding, previous teaching experience and research interests that complement the strengths of the School will be given preference. The track record and history of accomplishments in teaching, research and service should be commensurate with the position type and the rank applied for. This position provides opportunities for individuals with a strong commitment to an academic career with emphasis on research, instruction, and service.
