Description
The Department of Biomedical Sciences at the Texas A&M University School Dentistry invites applications for a full-time 100% FTE, tenure review upon hire faculty position with an 11- or 9-month service period; the start date is June 1, 2024, or negotiable. Applicants will be considered for the faculty title of Professor.
 

This position calls for a person with experience in a effective administration who promotes an environment of integrity and collegiality.  The candidate is expected to build and raise the national and international reputation through excellence in teaching predoctoral, graduate,  and advanced education programs, with a focus on externally-funded research and professional related services. This faculty member will be key in the advancement of biomedical science integration into new educational initiatives in the predoctoral education program and participate in teaching at predoctoral and postdoctoral levels.  The candidate is expected to have a strong record of sustained research through extramural funding and have the experience and capacity to reinvigorate and advance the research enterprise. The department head is fiscally responsible for department operations and reports directly to the Dean of Texas A&M University School of Dentistry.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a PhD or equivalent degree in a biological or a biomedical field of science. Candidates should have a demonstrable record of excellence in leadership within higher education, a record of obtaining extramural funding, and a strong record of scholarship in peer-reviewed, high impact professional journals.
