The Engineering Academic & Student Affairs office, College of Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for up to one non-tenure track faculty positions with full time potential at the lecturer, senior lecturer, assistant instructional professor, associate instructional professor, instructional professor, assistant professor of practice, associate professor of practice, or professor of practice positions, with the titles and ranks depending on background, qualifications, and experience. This position would be serving a 9-month appointment at the Texas A&M Galveston campus with appointment beginning fall 2024.  Successful applicants will teach primarily at the undergraduate level and provide support for the development of the General Engineering (first-year) undergraduate program and curriculum; participate in all aspects of the department’s activities; and serve the profession. Applicants will be responsible for the organization, delivery, evaluation and assessment of the engineering courses and student outcomes associated with those courses and serve as a liaison between College Station and Galveston engineering programs. The engineering courses include but may not be limited to introductory engineering; programming; statics and dynamics; mechanics and electricity & magnetism. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

Texas A&M University at Galveston is an ocean-oriented branch campus of Texas A&M University which educates over 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students in a unique blend of marine and maritime programs and also serves as a remote learning site for the College of Engineering.  The college is ranked 8th in graduate studies and 7th in undergraduate programs among public institutions by U.S. News & World Report, with nine of the college’s 15 departments ranked in the Top 10. Texas A&M University at Galveston is ideally located in Galveston, Texas, on the Gulf Coast where it is surrounded by the industry, environment, and programs essential to fulfilling its special-purpose mission. There are multiple College of Engineering programs on the Galveston campus including Computer Science, Interdisciplinary Engineering, Multidisciplinary Engineering Technology and Ocean Engineering. Students who choose to study engineering at the Texas A&M Galveston campus are Texas A&M Engineering students. They will spend at least their first year in Galveston as general engineering students. After their first year, they may wish to stay at the Galveston campus and earn a B.S. in one of the previously mentioned degrees or they may choose to apply to one of the 22 engineering majors offered in College Station. These talented students will be enrolled in Texas A&M engineering courses, taught by Texas A&M faculty, earning a Texas A&M degree, all while being able to remain on the Galveston campus.

For appointments at Associate Professor of Practice or Professor of Practice level, applicants must have, at the minimum, a master's level degree appropriate for the field in which the faculty member will teach and significant teaching experience at the college/school level in the field or in a related field, or have an extraordinary record of accomplishment in an applied setting. There may be additional requirements depending on the specific faculty title.

For appointments at Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Instructional Assistant Professor, Instructional Associate Professor, or Instructional Professor level, applicants must have a doctoral degree in a closely related engineering or science discipline, or a master's level degree appropriate for the field in which the faculty member will teach and significant teaching experience at the college/school level in the field or in a related field, or have an extraordinary record of accomplishment in an applied setting. There may be additional requirements depending on the specific faculty title.
