Description

The Department of Nutrition, within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University is actively seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual for one full-time, academic professional track (non-tenure) position Clinical Assistant Professor with a 9-month academic appointment beginning August 1, 2024. Applicants will be considered for the faculty title of Clinical Assistant Professor depending on qualifications. The position will consist of management, teaching, and service. 

The successful candidate will serve as the Associate Director for the Texas A&M University Dietetic Internship (DI) Program. The DI Program Associate Director will assist the Director to ensure that ACEND (Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics) accreditation standards for DI programs are met.  The DI Program received re-accreditation for 7 years in 2024. The DI Program associate director responsibilities include: assisting the director in supervising dietetic interns in the Masters of Clinical Nutrition (MCN) and Non-Degree DI Program, serving as co-advisor to MCN and Non-Degree DI dietetic interns, overseeing affiliation agreements, orienting new and existing preceptors, creating rotation schedules, overseeing recruitment efforts for interns and rotation sites, and performing continuous program improvements along with the DI program director.

Teaching: Lecturer of Nutrition teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Nutrition.

Other responsibilities will include mentoring of students and providing academic guidance to enable success within the discipline, service to the Department, College, University and the general public as part of the ongoing mission of a Land Grant Institution; including other duties as assigned. Service efforts may include serving on Department, College or University committees or serving in leadership positions of professional organizations.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

- Registered Dietitian 

- Masters level degree

- Significant teaching experience at the College/School level in the field or in a related field, or have an extraordinary record of accomplishment in an applied setting 

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to establish effective working relationships

Preferred qualifications:

- Teaching experience at an academic institution

- Experience building industry/clinical relationships
