Description

The Department of Veterinary Physiology and Pharmacology (VTPP), School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University (https://physiology.tamu.edu/) invites high caliber applicants for a full-time, 9 month tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor with a primary research emphasis in bone physiology and regeneration. We are especially interested in applicants utilizing molecular, cellular and/or genetic approaches to investigate the skeletal events associated with epimorphic regeneration and pathophysiology bone regeneration. We have a strong interest in candidates utilizing mammalian models to test their hypotheses. Anticipated start date is 2024.

The successful candidate will be expected to make significant contributions in the areas of scholarly research/creative work, teaching and service.  This includes establishing and maintaining an energetic, extramurally well-funded research program; engaging in interdisciplinary and collaborative research; and teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs.  A strong track record of peer-reviewed publications in the bone and regeneration field is also desired in all candidates.

Qualifications

Candidates are required to have either a PhD, DVM or MD and a primarily bone biology and muscle regeneration research focus.

Candidates must have successful postdoctoral training experience with a record of research excellence and be highly competitive for obtaining competitive federal grants.
