Description

The Department of Mathematics, College of Arts and Sciences, at Texas A&M University invites applications for an Academic Professional Track position beginning in fall semester 2024. This is a full-time, non-tenure track teaching position with a 9-month academic appointment, at the title of Instructional Assistant Professor. This position is 50% supported by the Texas A&M University Math Learning Center, and duties will be divided between the Department of Mathematics and the Math Learning Center. Duties in the Department of Mathematics will include teaching three courses per year and performing service for the department and/or college, and duties in the Math Learning Center will include running activities such as Workshops and Week-in-Review sessions; coordination and preparation of active-learning sessions, such as HOGU (“Hands-on, Grades-up”); creating tailored content to prepare incoming students to take math and statistics classes; working jointly with the MLC program coordinators to expand the digital library of the Virtual Math Learning center; and providing support and aid in the preparation of tutors working for the MLC.

 

 

 

Qualifications

The applicant must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a related field or a Master's degree and significant teaching experience at the college/school level in the field or in a related field.
