The Department of Visualization in the College of Architecture at Texas A&M University invites applications for a non-tenure track Instructional Assistant Professor whose teaching, creative work, and research demonstrate a deep understanding of interaction design, multimedia design, and emerging technologies. This is a nine-month, full-time academic appointment that begins in August 2022.
The successful candidate will teach courses in the Bachelor of Science in Visualization. A terminal degree (MFA or PhD) in interaction design, multimedia design, digital media design, or a related area is preferred, along with relevant academic and professional experience. Candidates should have expertise in one or more of the following areas: interaction design, UX/UI, augmented and virtual reality, multimedia design, web design, mobile app design, and other digital media. They should also have the ability to teach design studio courses.
In rare circumstances, candidates with an extraordinary record of accomplishment without a terminal degree will be considered. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
