Description

The Adam C. Sinn '00 Department of Finance at Mays Business School, Texas A&M University, invites applications for a full-time, Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure) position with a 10-month academic appointment beginning August 1, 2022. Applicants will be considered for the faculty title of Professor of Practice and may use "Executive Professor" as a working title. 

The Department has a successful MS in Finance (MSF) program and launched an MS in Quantitative Finance (MSQF) with the Department of Mathematics in 2018. The MSQF provides an intensive program in quantitative finance to prepare students for quantitative careers in trading, risk management, and fixed income. The Department is currently in the process of moving the program in-house. It will continue to be taught by faculty from both departments. 

The successful candidate is also expected to serve in the administrative role of (Executive) Director of the MSQF program. Successful candidates need significant experience in quantitative finance. This will help to increase student enrollments, ensure excellent student placement, and facilitate engagement with the MSF Advisory Board. The Director will also be asked to teach courses in the program and the Department. 

Qualifications

The minimum qualifications are

  • Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance with 15 or more years of relevant work experience; OR
  • Master Degree containing at least 18 course credits of Finance in its respective curriculum

Desired qualifications are

  • Master of Business Administration OR
  • Master of Science in Finance or Quantitative Finance OR
  • Ph.D. in Finance or Economics

Significant work experience in Quantitative Finance is required. The ability to teach a course on risk management in financial institutions is preferred, but not required.
