Description

The Department of Chemistry, College of Arts and Sciences at Texas A&M University is seeking applications for four full-time, non-tenure-track position(s) at the Instructional Assistant Professor, Instructional Associate Professor or Instructional Professor rank to teach undergraduate lecture and may assist with lab coordination in our first-year (general), organic, or physical chemistry programs.  In addition to their teaching, the successful applicant will have a strong commitment to undergraduate chemistry education and student success. They may be engaged with mentoring and supervising teaching assistants, developing innovative, high-quality curricula and instructional initiatives, chemical education research, assessment, and/or outreach. Successful candidates will be provided clear guidelines for promotion, annual reviews, professional development opportunities, and eligibility for teaching awards. The anticipated start date will be  August 1, 2023 and will be 9 months for the 2023-2024 academic year, with a possibility of renewal beyond that period.

 

 

Qualifications

Earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Education, or closely related field prior to the start date. Additional years of experience will be required for those applying at higher ranks. We are seeking candidates with potential to demonstrate excellence in the classroom and in mentoring students outside the classroom. Preferred qualifications: experience in teaching in General, Organic and/or Physical Chemistry.
