Required Qualifications
• An earned master’s level degree appropriate for the field in which the faculty member will teach and signficiant teaching experience at the college/school level in the field or related field
• As relevant to the program areas, experience teaching in pre-K to 12 environments
Preferred Qualifications
• An earned doctorate in education or a related field with depth of study and research in one of the program areas offered in the department: multicultural or urban education, or a closely related field Experience in multicultural and urban education instruction in teacher education, curriculum and instruction or within a specific content area of teacher education e.g., multiculturalism, policy reform, urban education, ESL, etc., as an interdisciplinary approach, Advanced Literacy Studies, Early Childhood Education (or related field), STEM education (math, science, technology, engineering), Teaching and Teacher Education.
• Experience of college/university teaching
• Ability to teach using innovative project-based and/or interactive learning techniques.
• Evidence of effective teaching at various grade/learning levels.
• Experience in teaching using evidence-based practices in content-area instruction
• Application and integration of new technologies and evidence-based interventions
• Evidence of effective post-secondary teaching experience with undergraduate and graduate students
• Engagement in service activities within an academic department.
