Description

The Department of Veterinary Integrative Biosciences, College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University invites applications for two full-time, non-tenure-track Lecturer faculty positions with a 9-month academic appointment. Additionally, if enrollment trends necessitate, teaching duties may be required during the 10-week summer session for extra compensation. The occupants of these positions will be expected to devote up to 100% effort to teaching. These are renewable positions with an opportunity for advancement in the lecturer track going from Lecturer to Senior Lecturer to Principal Lecturer.

Primary teaching responsibilities will focus on delivering writing-intensive courses that are discipline specific to the Biomedical Sciences (BIMS) undergraduate students. The BIMS program—one of the largest majors at Texas A&M University—is designed to give students a strong foundation in the biomedical sciences that allows them to pursue professional and graduate school programs, as well as careers in biomedical fields.  Candidates should have a clear record of undergraduate teaching excellence, a strong familiarity with the delivery of writing-intensive course instruction, and a passion for teaching.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will hold at least a B.S. in a field relevant to the biomedical sciences, and have an extraordinary record of accomplishment in an applied setting. An advanced degree in science journalism or a related discipline, while not required, would be highly desirable.
