The J. Mike Walker ‘66 Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for academic professional track faculty positions at the research professor levels with teaching expertise in mechanical engineering. The successful applicants will perform research and occasionally teach, participate in the department’s activities, and serve the profession. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Applicants should consult the department’s website to review our academic and research programs (engineering.tamu.edu/mechanical.html).

Applicants must have a masters or doctoral degree in a closely related engineering or science discipline.

The J. Mike Walker ’66 Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M is one of 14 departments in the College of Engineering (the largest college on the Texas A&M campus). Among public institutions in the nation, the undergraduate and graduate programs are each currently ranked 8th. Through the curriculum, the department strives to prepare its undergraduate and graduate students for careers in traditional mechanical engineering fields as well as careers in cross-disciplined areas in research, academia and industry. Mechanical engineering faculty also pride themselves on their research. The faculty’s research expertise includes; thermal and fluid sciences, materials and manufacturing, mechanics and systems and controls.
