Texas A&M University at Qatar
The Mechanical Engineering Program invites applications for a full-time rolling track faculty position at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level. The position is in the areas of design and manufacturing with preference given to candidates in design for sustainable manufacturing processes and in intelligent and smart manufacturing systems.
The position is a 9-month academic appointment with anticipated start date Fall 2020. The hired faculty member is eligible to receive a startup package which covers summer salary for three years. Following this period, faculty members at Texas A&M at Qatar may cover their summer salary from externally funded grants, teaching during the summer term, and/or engaging in approved service or development activities. Texas A&M at Qatar offers a competitive salary package commensurate with rank and experience. The package includes housing, annual home leave allowances, dependent education, local transportation allowance, medical insurance for employee and dependents, plus appropriate relocation and repatriation expenses.
The Mechanical Engineering Program (https://www.qatar.tamu.edu/programs/mechanical-engineering/) currently has 11 faculty members, who have a strong commitment to teaching, research, and service. The program benefits from state-of-the-art facilities and instrumentation in support of its key educational and research missions. There is significant support in Qatar for research through funds from Qatar National Research Fund and industry.

Established in 2003, Texas A&M at Qatar offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemical, Electrical and Computer, Mechanical, and Petroleum Engineering and a Master Program in Chemical Engineering. Texas A&M at Qatar attracts some of the best high school graduates in the region. The degree programs are materially identical to those of the main campus at College Station, Texas. Texas A&M University diploma is awarded to graduates.
