Psychiatric Clinician-Scientist Faculty Position

Department of Psychiatry, Texas A&M College of Medicine, College Station, Texas

The Texas A&M College of Medicine Department of Psychiatry, located in College Station, TX, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track or tenured 11.5 month academic appointment as Associate Professor or Full Professor to begin in the Fall of 2019.  This position involves a mixture of clinical and research efforts together with appropriate components of education and administration.  The anticipated start date is November 1, 2019.

Qualified candidates will have current research funding as Principal Investigator and will be expected to establish an independent research program that generates extramural funding.  In addition, teaching to clinical and research trainees, as applicable, and academic service to the department and university will be expected.

The new faculty member will receive a competitive package for salary and start-up along with laboratory and office space in the Texas A&M Health Science Center, Department of Psychiatry, College Station. Salary support will derive from a mixture of departmental, clinical, and grant sources.

Qualifications

Applicants should be clinician-scientists with an M.D. degree who are board-certified in psychiatry with 5-10 years’ experience providing psychiatric consultation to inpatient medical and surgical units. Evidence of research experience in the form of peer-reviewed publications and grant support is required. Clinical or basic science research is acceptable, however, epigenetic approaches to psychiatric research are preferred.
