The Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences, Texas A&M University seeks to hire up to 10 part-time non-tenure-track lecturers in primary care, for variable appointments within the 2021 and 2022 fiscal years. The department seeks to cover up to 20 weeks of clinical duty during this time.
The successful candidate will devote 100% of their time to patient care and clinical instruction. Clinical duties will be shared with four other faculty clinicians. The Primary Care Service admits over 4000 cases per year.
The Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital is a spacious facility (90,000 ft2) with sophisticated diagnostic and patient care equipment, including two modern digital radiography suites equipped with PACS image storage, eFilm, OrthoviewVet templating, and VelocityAI software for image fusion, analysis, and contour generation, and a 40 slice CT, 3T MRI, and a helical tomotherapy unit with MVCT onboard imaging onsite. In addition, nuclear scintigraphy, force-plate and kinematic gait analysis, PET/CT, and laboratories are available to facilitate the development of novel procedures and treatments. The hospital maintains Mimics and Echopixel licenses for three-dimensional reconstruction, with easy access to 3D printers (Gigabot, Stratasys) and other rapid prototyping technologies. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to interact with over 50 faculty members in the small animal hospital, and 35 interns and residents in the other medical and surgical services in the department.
