Texas A&M University College of Nursing is accepting applications for one full-time non-tenure track Lecturer in Round Rock, Texas. This position will teach undergraduate BSN courses for the Round Rock campus. The faculty position is a full-time non-tenure track position at the rank of Lecturer and is expected to have a 9-month appointment with a potential summer contract and begin on 09/01/21.
The College of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Traditional, Second degree, and RN to BSN), MSN-Family Nurse Practitioner, MSN-Nursing Education, and MSN-Forensic Nursing degree programs. Future plans include DNP and PhD programs. We are a growing college within Texas A&M University with programs located in Bryan, Texas (primary location) and Round Rock, Texas.

Responsibilities include:
Lecturer Track
All Lecturer track faculty are expected to teach as their primary responsibility. Instruction in the college of nursing is complex, given the practice nature of the discipline, and includes content and clinical mastery. These expectations are broadly described as expectations to:
- Adhere to Texas Board of Nursing rules and regulations for nursing education and practice.
- Maintain standards of professional nursing practice.
- Select learning activities that facilitate the student's achievement of course objectives.
- Assess individual student learning needs.
- Plan student assignments by coordinating with clinicians at the clinical site.
- Teach students unit routines, expectations, and how to perform duties in the clinical setting.
- Role model professionalism, therapeutic communication, and team collaboration.
- Guide students in communicating with and caring for individuals suffering from mental illness.
- Oversee direct patient care activities for assigned pre-license nursing students.
- Ensure safe, optimal patient care as student implement standards of care of persons with mental illness.
- Provide constructive feedback on student performance in the clinical setting.
- Evaluate students' clinical performance.
- Collaborate with the course lead or program coordinator for advice in problem-solving.
- Maintain clinical currency and relevant certifications.
