The Zachry Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering College of Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for (6) academic professional track (non-tenure) faculty positions with a 9-month appointment beginning January 1, 2022 at the assistant lecturer, lecturer, senior lecturer, associate professor of practice, professor of practice, instructional assistant professor, instructional associate professor, instructional professor, senior professor, visiting associate professor of the practice, visiting professor of the practice, visiting assistant professor, visiting associate professor, and visiting professor levels with teaching expertise in civil engineering. The successful applicant will teach primarily at the undergraduate level in support of the development of the undergraduate program; advise and mentor undergraduate students; participate in all aspects of the department's activities; and serve the profession. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Applicants should consult the department's website to review our academic and research programs (engineering.tamu.edu/civil).


For appointments at Associate Professor of the Practice or Professor of the Practice, Visiting Associate Professor of the Practice or Visiting Professor of the Practice level, applicants must have, at the minimum, an earned master's level degree or at least 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline for professor of practice level titles.  We will also consider applicants with a bachelor's degree and significant professional experience.

For appointments at Assistant Lecturer, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Instructional Assistant Professor, Instructional Associate Professor, or Instructional Professor level, applicants must have a masters or doctoral degree in a closely related engineering or science discipline.

For appointments at the Visiting Assistant Professor, Visiting Associate Professor, and Visiting Professor level, applicants must have a doctoral degree in a closely related engineering or science discipline.

For appointments at the Senior Professor level, applicants must have a doctoral degree in a closely related engineering or science discipline and have substantial experience in academia.
